Classroom Newsletters
Here are some of the books that we have been reading since coming back from spring break! We started by learning about weather, especially about clouds and rain. Then we started talking about planting and flowers, but our caterpillars unexpectedly arrived early to EC. So, being the flexible preschoolers that we are, we have been studying about butterflies for the past week!
We also made our own books using "It looked Like Spilt Milk" as inspiration! Too much fun! We drew about car crashes, dinosaurs and zebras in our books!
We have also enjoyed doing a lot of math, science, literacy and art projects around weather, spring as well as butterflies:

Previous News:
We have been reading and learning the story of the Three Little Pigs during the weeks of 2/16/15 through 3/6/15. We have enjoyed making a straw, stick and brick house to act out The Three Little Pigs story in our dramatic play area. We learned the nursery rhyme, This Little Piggy as well as created some pig art! Such fun! We also have had fun with other favorite stories like Mo Willems and his pigeon series, Bill Martin Jr and Eric Carle's Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you see and its variations as well as Doreen Cronin's series of books including Click Clack Moo! We have had a chance to paint with epsom salt and explored a mixture of cornstarch and water!
Here is some special fun we had during our Valentine's Week!
Mix: 2 cups of baking soda, 2 Tablespoons of salt and a healthy squirt of dish soap. This mixture can be formed into balls or into shapes using cookie cutters. We added a bit of red food coloring. Over a large container, we then squirted bottles filled with vinegar onto our creations to see what would happen to our mixture.
Here are some of the fun activities we did during our dental hygiene week (2/2/15-2/6/15).
